Komplex is a multidisciplinary art and cultural space created through the careful renovation of a long-standing site in Huam-dong. Grounded in the belief that a space shares its own time and history with people, Komplex builds upon accumulated layers of time, adding new narratives as continuations rather than replacements. Spanning from the basement to the second and third floors as contemporary art exhibition spaces, the fourth floor as a ceramics studio, and the fifth floor as a music hall, the venue explores the boundless possibilities of art through the ways in which each level is alternately shared and delineated. Through close collaboration with artists working in the field of contemporary visual art, Komplex presents meticulously curated exhibitions, with a primary focus on discovering emerging artists while also revealing new facets of mid-career practitioners.
